Celebrating Your New Bundle of Joy: The Smart Parenting Baby Shower

After the success of the two previous legs of Smart Parenting Baby Shower 2016, SmartParenting.com.ph, the most credible parenting online resource backed by experts and a community of moms and dads, in partnership with EQ Dry, concludes this year’s baby shower events with a third installment, an intimate whole day gathering of expectant mommies with informational talks for moms-to-be as they wait for their new bundle of joy. It was a great experience for me since I already have ideas about motherhood.

The experts included Marguax Alampay, who talked about beauty and fashion for pregnant mommies. A former fashion editor at Candy Magazine, Margaux has been a fashion stylist for seven years after studying fashion in New York and Milan and currently styles for various celebrities, print ads, and fashions shows.

Another expert was Sharon Galang, independent certified instructor (ICI) for baby sign language, who helped parents discover the joy of communicating with their babies before they can talk.

And finally, Chiqui Brosas, an experienced childbirth educator and doula since the 1990’s and a
breastfeeding advocate since 1997, shared ways on how you can face the pain and be confident on delivery day. She provided relaxation techniques and exercises through a Lamaze session. Chiqui is known as the guro when it comes to natural childbirth because of her calmness and ability to control during labor and until birth.

Capping off the series of talks is a fun crafting workshop that definitely gave mommies ideas on how to personalize bibs for their babies.

Here are some tips I learned:

  • For fashion, find inspiration but don't compare yourself to others.
  • Love your curves and flaunt them, don't cover the bump. Be proud!
  • Follow your personal style
  • Choose pieces that you can still wear even you're not pregnant or until your 9th month.
  • Go for clean sleak lines
  • Shop for clothing that could fit your growing belly. It must be always breathable and comfy.
  • Moisturize your belly
  • Check your doctor whether products and treatments are suitable for you.
  • Make time for grooming and pampering too
  • Find time to recover after giving birth and don't push yourself in a hurry to get back into shape.
  • Stay healthy and don't pressure the body

SP Baby Shower 3 is made possible with major sponsor EQ Dry, with our generous concessionaires: Smart Steps, Mega-Malunggay, Baby Mama, VPharma, Tiny Buds and Giant Carrier.

How to Spot the fake Labiotte Wine Lip Tint

I first saw Labiotte Wine Lip Tint in 라비오뜨 - labiotte facebook page official January 2016 of this year. The wine lip tint packaging got me recently when I finally got the authentic one for a low price comparing to other local sellers in the Philippines.
Labiotte which I heard this pronounced as 'la beauty', spelled cute right? This wine lip tint is part of my current hauls, I first bought the mini then after several days decided to get the full size. I decided to create another SPOT THE FAKE to include it to create a series of post.

With this post, I have 3 different kinds of Labiotte wine lip tint, from YonjiKonji, a Legit korean shop (RD01 Red Shiraz), the fakes are from Divisoria (RD01 Red Shiraz), and a makeup stall inside a mall (PK01 Blush Pink).

Authentic Price sold here in Philippines for around P500, got mine for only P470 since its on sale
Labiotte price₩ 12000
Fake Price: P60-P150

P 1 = US$ 0.020
P 49.85 = US$ 1

So how will you know if you got the Authentic Genuine Chateau Labiotte Wine Lip Tint? Check out more photos below to find out.

A trip to Tamagoya

I tried my very first Ramen here in Tamagoya. It can be found in 2 Hon. B. Soliven Ave, Antipolo, Rizal. Few blocks from Masinag intersection. Tamagoya offers best tasting Ramen considering the price value, you may get a Miso Ramen for only ₱158 which is a great steal! This is a late post, photos are taken September 2015
This pretty noodle house are always full house during weekends for dinner, we had to wait to sit in for 30 minutes since we're a group of 5, it was my second visit. During my first visit, we're already inside at 530pm, people starts to come over at 6-7pm. The place is big but getting smaller because they are getting more and more customers as time hits dinner.

Collective Haul Oct-Nov 2016

Sharing my collective haul for October - November 2016. Looking for some inexpensive stuff to try and might blog about as well.

  • Daiso Moisturizer for 88 each - Blue one contains hyaluronic acid compound while red contains Haritsuya collagen formulation. No, I can't read the text, I had my cousin Ahyen read it for me (Hello!)

Ciracle Radiance Eye Miracle

Probably our fault for taking late nights, staying out too long which let us get more sun damage, allergies, etc caused our eyes to have lines and puff !

I tend to rub and tug my eye area often during my allergy season (high pollen count), yep, there's an allergy like that. I usually stay indoors as much as possible. It tends to be my habit during the season, I had to wear glasses to help myself from rubbing the area. Rubbing the eye area would contribute in causing wrinkles and more saggy under eye bags.

I haven't reviewed an eye cream before just because I haven't tried a brand that provides noticeable results that would be worth sharing here on my blog.

Skin Potions Lip Candy in Cherry Bitten and Strawberry Shortcake

I think Chapped Lips would be my issues forever. Even I take lots of water or scrub the lips, no day passed without having a chapped lips. Matte liquid lipsticks are lovely but can't enjoy wearing it the whole day. Tints and Tinted Lip balms are always my best lippy-friends when I'm tired of heavy moisturizing lipsticks.

Posted a review about the Skin Potions Lip Candy in Snow White (link), I decided to pick up more colors to try. I got the Sin Potions Lip Candy in Cherry Bitten and Strawberry Shortcake. Swatches below:

They are both good for every day use, adds color to my pale face when I need some.

Do you have any more recommendations of tinted lip balms? ❤

Feature: Tony and Jackey SM Masinag Acid Perm & Keratin Treatment

T&J Salon Professionals is created from the masters of techniques, from training ground of Bangs T&J Salon same professionalism and quality made affordable.

Curl & Slim for extremely damaged hair
Acid waves usually have a pH rating between 4.5 and 7.0, and require heat to speed processing. The main ingredient in an acid perm is glyceryl mono thioglycolate. Since hair has a pH of around 5.0, acid waves are less damaging to the hair, require the heat of a dryer usually and typically do not produce as firm as curl as an alkaline wave.

It is best for individuals with:
  • very fine textured hair
  • damaged hair
  • has been processed with other harsh chemical services again
Alkaline waves are made using an alkaline ingredient, generally ammonium thioglycolate. They are also usually between 9.0 and 9.6 in pH. Alkaline waves are also called "COLD WAVES" since they don't need any extra heat source to process. These work best on hair that is coarse, thick or resistant to processing as well as "normal" virgin hair as they are much stronger when compared to acid waves.

Cleaning my Velour Earpads

Do you have headsets with velour earpads? Check if there's visible lint or that dandruff thing might be dust stuck into the earpads? I encounter it with my Plantronics Gamecom 388. I often leave my room door open so dust can easily enter my room or when it accidentally drop into the floor. See the photo below :(
This topic might be different from the other beauty related posts before. This headset is the nerdier side of me really. I'm using it for my MMORPG and Skype calls.

OMG One Dip Instant Nail Lacquer Remover Dissolvant

I'm allergic to some strong smell such as acetone, so I often buy scented acetone than the regular acetone variant. I found this little bottle at Watsons and I'm curious that it's a Nail Lacquer Remover in a bottle!
It contains 75ml of dissolvant soaked in a black/gray sponge inside.

"Fast, effective nail lacquer removal, no mess, no fuss!"

Human Nature Rethink Your Pink Campaign

Did You Know? 1 in 8 Filipinas will suffer from cancer in her lifetime.
"While the chemicals in cosmetics make us look, feel and smell better, research strongly suggests that at certain exposure levels, some of these chemicals may contribute to the development of cancer in people." --BreastCancer.org
"These ingredients [petrochemicals] pose risks of cancer, genetic damage and reproductive toxicity (including infertility) to unsuspecting consumers, and their infants and children." -- University of Illinois School of Public Health Emeritus Professor Samuel Epstein, M.D.
Every October, you may notice brands proclaiming their support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month:
Ironically, many of these contain ingredients linked to breast cancer, the very disease they say they aim to help cure. This phenomenon is what you call pink washing.
