SM Taytay's Earth Hour 2016 x Collaboration 30

Mar 20, 2016 //
TAKING the lead in efforts to spark awareness and inspire society to combat the adverse effects of global warming, SM Supermalls and all its 56 malls took part in the celebration of Earth Hour Saturday night (March 19, 2016).

This year’s theme, “Shine a Light on Climate Action”, reiterates Earth Hour’s goals of not only getting public support for climate change mitigation and adaptation but also getting individuals and groups to do their share beyond the one-hour symbolic switching off of lights.
SM City Taytay recycled their empty bottles and used some light sticks inside the bottle. SM would like to help spread the effects of climate change and starts to create awareness on what people can simply do to help our planet. Through different programs such as this Earth Hour, we can do something as simple as turning off the light for an hour to conserve energy. For many years now, SM has been taking sustainability initiatives that include water recycling facilities, rainwater catchment tanks, and LED lighting systems. Regular Trash to Cash activities are also conducted wherein the public can exchange specified recyclable or reusable trash for cash.

The event was participated by the public and also a pre-event was held. The Collaboration 30, wherein 15 Fashion Designers and 15 Visual Artists collaborate to come up with a beautiful collection of glorious hand painted gowns in celebration of SM Supermalls 30th Anniversary as well.
One of my favorites would be the creation of Gener & Jerico
